LOL

Sound was a bit butchered and the graphics could've used a little shading, but this film gets an 8/10 for entertainment!

I laughed like an idiot for a quite a while after the film was finished. Nice effort. This HAS to be made into a series. Please, PLEASE make this into a series!

NG Wants to see more of Death and Itchy (and don't forget Tornberry!).

Good job!

im writting the script to the second right now also drawing up the char models for the animator...and buying a cattle prod so it gets done

Average... Needs inprovement but nice try...

Storyline wise it needs brushing up. It has no closure really and the part where Sonic and Super Sonic detached bodies can become unclear to some unless you make it more "idiot-proof". Byt the way you used the sprites in this animation was impressive. Only flaw is that you did it with 12.5 frames a second. This can bore the spectator's eye and obviously chop the animation up. Try 25 frames a second (30's only for people who got the balls to animate that many frames. 30 frames per second is pretty smooth and a ball braker to animate with). 25 fps and a better storyline structuring. Otherwise it gets a 7 for coolness! It actually looked like Sonic Spinball in some scenes. I loved that!

Try again and i'm sure that you'll get an awesome mark for your next one!

Vixin-McCloud responds:

There are two types of people in the world: those that can count and those that can’t. The movie wasn’t made in 12.5 fps, it was made in 15. I didn’t see the need to speed it up because one, when I did speed the frame rate, none of the sounds were synching properly; and two, I didn’t want the whole movie to be over in three seconds. I reckon I made it fast enough to keep the fighting intense, but not so fast that people get lost easily. Also, like any kind of spoof, it requires some background understanding, no matter how much “idiot-proofing” you put into it. As I said earlier, I didn’t have much on the storyline to begin with because I wanted the movie to start off like a regular 2D Sonic game. Break in, fight robots, beat Eggman. Not much of a story to it, but the story should pick up as it goes. Thanks for your advice though.

LMAO!

It's the random stupidity of Blockhead that makes me enjoy this cartoon so much! It's like seeing my best friend with a smiley face on a flash cartoon. It's hilarious and the "fat old man" really helps drive the narrative forward.
Graphics are pretty good. Not too shabby at all. Your style is pretty much established at this stage, therefore it's needless to say this, but you get a 10 for it. Sound is in sync and it's bright. The only flaw i found in it was the starting theme. It's a little too loud and "meshy" when it comes to the combo of instruments you used to put it together. Otherwise, sound is good. Violence is there without becoming the main aspect of the film so that helps it being funny without being gruesome. Blockhead speaks out to people! It's one of the few submissions with even just a bit of interactivity in it. People can relate to it and/or can relate Blockhead to someone they have known or seen around (even though everyone likes an idiot in a film). Needless to add that the humor gets a 10. It made countless viewers laugh themselves silly (including me). The media's good all rounder. Despite the marks not being entirely full it gets a 10 from me. 5/5 on the voting panel. You deserve it!

Make more Blockhead episodes! Me and my mates love them!

The-Swain responds:

Hey, thanks a bunch! And you're right about the intro theme. All I did was alter my original midi to use organ instruments, and I suppose the close synching of so many similar instruments led to too much volume.

Excellence at its best!

This submission had luster, quality, style, individuality and most importantly depth! Story elements in this submission make it so great to watch and you managed to keep the file size to an incredible low while making the length of the feature unbelievably long for something that wouldn't have fit a 5 meg limit if most of us tried.
The one sad flaw is the line you use. It's good in some spots and bad in some others. Making your drawing line smoother would enhance the beauty of your artistic style. It looks great as it is. Smoother and perhaps a little thicker lines would look better.
That is all i can point out, because apart from getting too technical and picky, i can't really do. You haven't tried to mask your mistakes, moreover you did your best to not make any. You clearly busted your rear-end to get this done well and it's here to see. Congratulations, and i hope i can see this being made into a TV series someday!

5/5, 10/10!

LMMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was funny as hell. I invited a whole judging panel at my mouse for this one (5 people, 2 boys and 3 chicks) and we wet ourselves laughing. You have a vote that's been agreed on by 5 people here.

Graphics were pretty cool (Sometimes a little kiddy, but if that's how you meant to draw them, then it's cool), sound was in sync and spot on (Michael's laugh just made it hilarious), obviously violence and interactivity were impossible to represent in this film and last but not least, the element that fueled my brain into giving this movie such a good mark: HUMOR. It was absolutely piss hilarious!

I marked your submission as one of my favourites. You get a 5/5 for this one. Congrats, man!

Massimo--

Nice

I haven't seen the original as of yet, but you sure did a good job with this submission.

For the dickheads that didn't get the punchline earlier i'll spell it out for them: It's a message for the author saying "thank you", not "fuck you" like many have been telling you in their reviews (flagged them by the way, because they seriously pissed me off).

You put a lot of effort in this film and it turned out great. It doesn't drag on. As a matter of fact the continuity is quite fast and almost chaotic. That's why the music you picked is very much appropriate.

What else can i say. You nailed it. I'm giving this film a 5. It's a really good piece of work and people reviewing should look at their own artwork (*cough*stick animations*cough*overused motion tweens*cough*) which makes yours stand out by a lot.

THIS should be amongst one of the best. Thank Tom it is.

5/5. Make us more, please! We really like the girl in the cartoon! She's funny and she's HAWT!

Massimo--

Incredible!

I haven't yet seen a flash film with such good synchronisation between sound and motion. The little white guys looked hilarious in a cute way, which made the animation characterised rather than uniform and it was so well co-ordinated that it all looked like it was done on the spot. Had the back of my mind fooled...

5/5. I think it's one of the best we've seen so far and i'ma help it prosper.

good effort

graphics need no improvement, really. as for story elements i guess it'll come to you as the series progresses. Sound is a bit of an issue though. there's almost none of it. i can hear noises, but no voices and no music to emphasize the atmosphere. some rock perhaps or some really fast urban would go good in your fight scenes.

another thing that you should try and do is making the animation faster. the motion is a little too sluggish. this can unfortunately bore less patient viewers which is a shame considering that if your tweens were sped up a little, the action would also be more realistic.

Overall it was a very good effort though. keep up the good work and you'll get sharp in no time.

Kinda stuck in limbo...

Not bad, i'll give you that, but there's room for improvement. THe graphics could use more shading, the tweens are not realistic enough and the movie had no punchline other than the guy skating and falling over at the end. it was kinda sudden, like there was more but there wasn't...

Shame. Make a longer one, take these pointers into consideration and i reckon you got yourself a winner!

Still, good job on your first attempt. Better luck next time!

Angz responds:

i dont tween, that was frame-by-frame

Excellent.

I'm not a man who marks submissions highly...

you literally ripped these full marks out of me!

No flaws in the film whatsoever. This is too good for a flash! It should be on TV!

5/5!!!

I animate once in a while. Just because i can.
